This CHALLENGE difficulty tour is entirely in the western Sierra Madre mountains of Mexico. We will see volcanos, geothermal vents, the migration of the monarch butterfly, pine forests, colonial towns and more. We'll even visit the marble-paved streets of the birth village of the last Aztec emperor. Mayan ruins that we visit include the famous Chichén-Iztá, Uxmal and several others including more in the Puuc hills. There are caves including Lol-Tun, and cenotes. A cenote is a sinkhole that accesses the immense underground river system of the Yucatan. Each one is spectacular but different from the one before.

On this REGULAR - CHALLENGE difficulty tour we cycle around the highlands of Michoacan state. We range in altitude from 1500m to 2500m so the weather is cool. We'll explore colonial cities, indigenous Purepecha towns, the newest volcano in the world, the avocado capital of the world and some spectacular mountain country-side. There are lakes, colourful markets, and interesting history and culture. For this tour, we meet up in Morelia and are transported to Carapán, a convenient starting point to cycle a loop that eventually takes us back to Morelia.

This extreme CHALLENGE difficulty tour in the state of Oaxaca starts and ends in Oaxaca city. The route to the coast will take us through a major Mexican pilgrimage destination, Juquila. People come from all over Mexico by foot, bicycle and motorized vehicle. After a brief stay on the coast in the surfer town of Pto. Escondido we head back into the hills and mountains to loop back to Oaxaca. This area is rich in indigenous culture, mainly Mixtec and also Triqui. We end the ride along an ancient trading route winding it's way along the top of a high ridge.

This CHALLENGE difficulty tour starts in Queretaro, central Mexico, a spectacular colonial city. We start off on fairly gentle terrain but later in the tour we encounter very challenging remote mountains. One minute we're silently sliding through the fog shrouded pine forested mountains and the next a breathtaking vista of desert landscapes bursts open before us. We end our tour in the north east end of the state in Jalpan de Serra. Highlights include 18th century Fransiscan missions, diverse cactus, quiant old mining towns, a winery tour and much more.

This extreme challenge difficulty and extremely popular tour in the state of Oaxaca starts and ends in Oaxaca city. The route to the coast will take us through a major Mexican pilgrimage destination, Juquila. People come from all over Mexico by foot, bicycle and motorized vehicle. After a brief stay on the coast in the surfer town of Pto. Escondido we head back into the hills and mountains to loop back to Oaxaca. The mountain scenery here is absolutely spectacular. This area is rich in indigenous culture, mainly Mixtec, Triqui and Amuzgos. We end the ride along an ancient trading route winding it's way along the top of a high ridge.

Colonial Mérida to Valladolid. This is a regular difficulty tour. We will enjoy the beautiful colonial architecture of several towns on this tour including Mérida, Izamal and Valladolid. Mayan ruins that we visit include the famous Chichén-Iztá, Uxmal and several others including more in the Puuc hills. There are caves including Lol-Tun, and cenotes. A cenote is an opening to the immense underground lake and river system of the Yucatan; each one is spectacular and unique.

We will see an impressive cross-section of south-easern Mexico and explore a diverse array of culture and geography. Also, Carnaval celebrations will be going on for the first week of the tour.
