Am Tag nach dem Ende der Pazifik-Tour traf er Abner — den einzigen Teilnehmer dieser Tour — am Friday December 8, 2000 in Zihuatanejo; am 10. begannen sie zu radeln und erreichten am December 19 Puerto Escondido. Abner kam in der folgenden Saison wieder, was ihn zum ersten Wiederholungsgast von ¡El Tour machte, und 2001 trug er sich ins Gästebuch von eltour.itgo.com ein.
